I have the honour to invite Your
Lordship's attention to the Report of the Retrenchment Committee paragraphs 176-184 and to~ enquire whether the post of Deputy Superintendent should be filled up on the retirement of Mr. Horspool.

Police
308
Police and duperintendent of the Gaol are to be amalgamated
on the occurrence
of a suitable opportunity it would be well if the Captain Superintendent had
an
assistant who had
already gained the necessary experience.
